Play Unsafe is back from the printer!
about 1 month ago – Sat, May 09, 2026 at 06:43:32 AM

Hi all,

Play Unsafe is back from the printer! Here are the books: they're looking beautiful.

They'll be sent out in early June. The distributors are packaging them up now, but they're also attending UK Games Expo at the end of May, so the work will really begin when they get back. If you've ordered other physical books as add-ons, they'll come at the same time.

Meanwhile, you'll find the digital version of Play Unsafe in BackerKit: go to play-unsafe.backerkit.com, fill in the survey if you haven't already, then go to Digital Downloads. If you've ordered digital add-ons, they'll appear there shortly too (in about 48 hours, when surveys are locked down).

Which reminds me: please fill in the survey if you haven't already.

While you're reading this, I'll just mention some other places you can find me...

  • On my Patreon, I'm writing a series on How To Design a TTRPG. It's mostly free, so go and have a look, and follow along.
  • I'm also at UK Games Expo on stand 4-757. Come and say hello!
  • You can also sign up for my mailing list, so I can tell you about future things I do.

Thanks for your support! More soon.

Play Unsafe is at the printer

Hi all,

We funded! Thanks so much for supporting Play Unsafe.

Here's the big news. I wanted to get things moving as soon as I could, so Play Unsafe is at the printer now. Here are the cover proofs, which arrived today.

This is what happens next: your card will get charged, I'll get set things up on BackerKit and I'll get PDFs to you as soon as I can. That always takes longer than you think: if I can do it in the next few days, I will, but it might take a couple of weeks.

And, next week, I'm going to take a break. So, if I'm a bit slower to answer questions than usual, that's why.

As for the books themselves, we're definitely on course to get them out to you in June, as promised. Like I say, they're at the printer, but printing can take a while, and then they need to get to the distributor, who needs to package them up, and so on. I'll get it done as quickly as I can.

Thanks so much again for your support.
